Stittgen Brings Nanis to Vancouver

On December 5, 2025, Stittgen unveiled a partnership with Nanis, a highly-regarded maison that designs and crafts unique 18K gold and gemstone jewelry based in Vicenza, Italy.  A key feature that sets Nanis apart is hand-engraved gold boules (or “golden pearls”) that radiate a silk-like finish.  This is achieved by experienced artisans who use time-tested  hand tools  and techniques to create truly unique pieces.  This commitment to handcrafted quality and attention to detail is a shared value with Stittgen Fine Jewelry, and a core driver of the relationship.

Nanis was founded by designer and creative director, Laura Bicego, whose father was also an accomplished goldsmith.  Laura and her husband, Piero, who is an engineer by training, have been shepherding Nanis for over 36 years.  Their manufactory is in Vicenza, the gold jewelry capital of Italy and beyond.  The region has been known for highly skilled jewelry artisans and advanced jewelry know-how for centuries.  These artisans are the ones who employ the traditional technique of “mille righe” which means “thousand lines”.  The technique uses a simple hand tool called a burin to engrave these fine lines into the gold boules, giving them a finish that looks so much like silk that you are tempted to feel the texture to see if they are made of silk thread.  Each boule takes a lot of experience and a lot of time – it can take up to 17 hours to hand engrave one of Nanis’s mesmerizing pieces.

In September 2025 we attended VicenzaOro, the premier Italian jewelry show held in Vicenza, Italy.  While we had some pre-arranged meetings at the show, nothing matched our excitement when we happened to walk by the Nanis display area.  The texture of the silk-like “golden pearls” immediately drew us in, and as we saw more of the product line, we knew we were in the right place. Their versatile designs with a timeless and effortless look really aligned with Stittgen’s design ethos.  What sealed the deal was getting to know the owners of Nanis and understanding the organization’s commitment to handcrafted quality.

We are proud to bring a curated selection of exquisite pieces featuring the visual and tactile appeal, the versatility and the innovation that only Nanis can offer.  Not only is Stittgen Fine Jewelry the only purveyor of Nanis products in town, some of the items we carry are exclusively created for us.  There is a vast product line encompassing several collections and we can order any product for you – and the best part is that you can feel good about being a Canadian shopper as every item will be 10 to 20% less than in the US due to their tariffs.
