On September 27, 2007 Stittgen Fine Jewelry hosted a reception to share information on the exciting plans to build and furnish the North Shore’s first freestanding Hospice. The Hospice will bring a new level of care and support to the North Shore for those who are terminally ill and their families.
The Lions Gate Hospice Society, in partnership with the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation, has to date raised roughly half of the $7.7 million total budget for the project.
Dr. Val Geddes, Medical Leader of the North Shore Palliative Care Program was at hand along with leaders from the Hospice Society, to provide details of the hospice, which will be located near Lions Gate Hospital and is scheduled to open in 2009. The multi-media presentations were moving and thought provoking. The live music, hors d’oeuvres and wine ensured the mood remained upbeat.
“Our company vision is to go beyond exceptional service to our clients, and provide a meaningful service to the community at large. An event such as this gives us an opportunity to do just that and I am thrilled at the response” said Selina Ladak of Stittgen Fine Jewelry.
